This low-profile reel features Shimano's exclusive Digital Control Brake system (i-DC4) to automatically regulate spool rotation speed while casting. The reel is equipped with a self-charging microcomputer, requiring no batteries or other power sources. The easily adjustable dial allows you to set the reel to a completely free-wheeling mode or to one of three different settings: one for braided or mono, two for fluorocarbon, and three for more challenging casting situations such as strong winds. Once set, the microcomputer adjusts spool speed in nanoseconds during the cast, eliminating backlash, maximizing casting performance, and allowing you to focus on fishing with more enjoyment.
