This reel can be used for anything. From fishing for perch with the 1000 series to sea fishing for cod with the 8000 series and everything in between. Thanks to its metal body and extra thick bail arm, the Battle II can take a beating. Due to its corrosion-resistant construction and 5+1 sealed ball bearings, the reel is unaffected by saltwater. The balanced rotor and HT-100 drag system make the reel very pleasant to use. Penn reels feature "Line Capacity Rings"; these rings on the spool clearly show at a glance how much line is still available on the spool.
