Henk van Bork is one of the current specialists in tying primarily classical full-dressed salmon fly patterns. Additionally, he has written dozens of stories about fly tying published in various fly fishing magazines. Now, he has placed the salmon fly in a historical perspective in the book “Salmon Flies.” From 1400, Henk traces the history of the salmon fly up to the present day.
Not only the designers but also many of their tying patterns are covered, abundantly illustrated with images and photos to clarify. Even for non-salmon fly tiers (and everyone who ties flies should give it a try because you’ll learn a lot of new techniques), it has become an interesting and captivating book with 176 pages of text, photos, drawings, and tips.
